| This is great news for Edward and the health of the band, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope for a tour in 2007. I doubt that Ed is going to one of those quick 30 day rehab spots, and if I recall correctly, James Hetfield was out for over a year when he went into rehab back in 2001. |

I really hope Eddie gets the help that he needs. He has needed it for years. I am pulling for his recovery.
He is right not only does he owe it to us the fans to get himself strait, but we owe it to him to stand by him and send him prayers and encouageing words throught this website.
You the man Ed, get yourself strait for us and for your family. We love ya man. See ya soon. |

Now we can all -- finally -- put to rest the rumors of what's happening with Van Halen.
And, more importantly, Ed will be getting the help he needs and deserves.
In the meantime, let's send him, his family and friends our best thoughts and prayers. We'll see our good friend Edward again soon and better than ever!

Ed finally speaks directly to the fans from the official website. I am glad that he silenced those who were spreading false information about his not seeking help.
Ed did NOT need to make this public. Seeking help for alcohol related problems is a very intense, very personal decision for any person (famous or not) to make. The fact that he decided to share this with his fans in a passionate statement and to discus the tour to boot shows that he respects the fans, himself, and his family and loved ones. I frankly didn't think that he cared anymore. I was wrong and I am glad I was wrong.
Hopefully the rumor mongering and false information that is being spread from the so-called insiders and amatuer speculators will end for awhile. Like BDillon said, this is Ed's time to heal. Amen.
Take all the time you need Ed to get well. Good luck and God Bless. |

Very well said Magnus. It means a lot that he shared this directly with the fans. I am hopeful for his recovery - whatever he has to do, however long it takes, I pray for him to find peace, and happiness. It is a relief that he's getting help and taking action. |
